Well, it's been a week. We had Phoebe spayed on Monday and the poor girl has been sick ever since. The vet said to give her some pepto bismol and that she should be better by tomorrow. At least the house has had a good cleaning. Add to that our ancient cat Lily has been sick. Fortunately, the bathroom is easy to clean. Then I was in the shop carving my alabaster stone and the compressor died. I'm hoping it's an easy fix. What isn't easy is getting it out from under the stairs to try and repair. The good thing that happened is that my new 'birding' lens finally showed up after more than six weeks of waiting.
I have two photos this week taken with my new lens. Both photos were taken from 12-14 feet away. The first is of a cardinal and the second is of a toad lily. Can you see the three ants on the flower? I was using the animal eye auto focus mode when I took the cardinal photo. It was amazing how the camera kept the birds eye in focus as it turned and jumped around the feeder and deck.
