The weather has certainly been nice this week but the mosquitoes are still terrible.  I was worrying about the anoles and skinks this summer because I wasn't seeing very many but since the weather has cooled they are everywhere.  So I'm happy.  They are bug eating machines.

I'm still working on carving the alabaster but think I'm going to have to change to something other than a wave.  The stone isn't what I was expecting because unlike other alabaster I've carved this piece has very large grains which won't allow fine detail and won't support the curl in a wave.  Oh well.

I have two photos for you this week.  The first is a ring neck snake about eight inches long.  Linda took the photo for me because I shake to much to photograph anything without a tripod and this guy had someplace to go.  The second photo is of an American green tree frog.  He was sitting Linda's car doing what frogs do.  Eating bugs.  He stayed on the car for several hours so I had time to get my new camera, new lens and tripod.  Once again the animal eye focus worked like a charm.  My percentage of perfectly focused photos has increased dramatically.

enjoy and stay healthy

Dan
