My foot is getting better but I still haven't been able to trike in four weeks.  At lest I can walk now.  Linda drove me out to the observatory last Thursday to cut the grass.  I didn't last long and Linda took over.  I'm so angry that I had a perfect opportunity to photograph Linda on the tractor and it never occurred to me to get the camera and take a picture.  I'm heading back out tomorrow to finish up the mowing and hopefully it'll be a clear night.  It's been so long since I've used the telescope I think I've forgotten how.  If it's a clear night head outside and look to north-northeast for the perseids meteor shower.  The show should peak during the night of August 12-13.

I have two photos for you today.  The first is of a fungus growing on a dead branch which I thought was interesting.  The second is of a red belied woodpecker.

enjoy

Dan
