The weather has finally cooled down and I've been enjoying triking around Morgan county without feeling like I'm in an oven. Linda about knocked me out of my chair Wednesday evening by telling me that she missed her dog and had stopped by the animal shelter and checked out the puppies. OK, that was totally unexpected. She really liked an 8 month old chocolate lab and wanted me to go check her out. So I went by the shelter after my doctors appointment. She was a nice dog but there's no way either one of us has enough energy to handle that breed of dog. They need to run. It also didn't help when I asked why the dog had been returned and was told that she was chasing cattle.
I've been on the internet checking out golden retriever puppies. Turns out there is a breeder in Social Circle. Guess what were doing this afternoon. I'm still not convinced we need another dog and they have become very expensive.
The Madison fall festival and chili cook-off is this Saturday. Come taste the outstanding chilies and make sure you stop by the Charlie Elliott Astronomy tent and say hi.
I have two photos from my Madison to Social Circle trike ride. They were taken at the same place about six miles into my ride. One is looking east and one is looking west. Dixie highway is a beautiful road for triking.
