We're finally getting some rain around here. It seems like it either rains for weeks or we're in a drought. The Charlie Elliott Astronomy Club is doing an outreach event at the Charlie Elliott Wildlife Preserve on Saturday from 10a to 2p. It called Keeping Georgia Wild and is loads of fun for the entire family. There's food, exhibits (creepy crawlies), fishing and a myriad of other things the see and do. Generally they're around 1500 to 2000 which attend. And did I mention that it's free.
I have three photos this week. The first is of the column of a Little Emperor orchid. I really like doing closeup's of flowers and love the colors in this one. The second is of a Carolina wren on a log with a columbine (from last week) in the foreground. The third is a closeup of the wren showing it has a grub in it's beak.
